The problem
The new office had nothing set up.
The practice needed a network, cameras, workstations and email ready for HIPAA, the federal rules for protecting patient records.
The building already had network cable in the walls, but nobody knew what shape it was in.
What we did
What we set up, in order.
- Tested the existing cable. The runs in use passed, so nothing had to be redone, and old unused runs were retired.
- Built a wall rack on a plywood board with a patch panel, a UniFi gateway (the main router) and a switch, plus ceiling Wi-Fi access points.
- Installed a UniFi Protect camera system.
- Set up Google Workspace for HIPAA, with shared drives and DMARC, a setting that stops others from sending email in the practice’s name.
- Set up four workstations and the desk phones.
- Set the copier to scan to email only inside the practice, with the scans encrypted.
The result
The office was set up in about five weeks.
Work ran from the site survey on May 20 to the last setup visit on June 25, 2026.
We also wrote up how everything is set up, so anyone who supports the office later can pick it up.
