Wi-Fi for older Westchester houses.
Many houses here are 1920s colonials and Tudors with plaster walls, three floors and a finished basement, and the cable company's router sits in a corner of the lowest level. One box can't cover that.
Plaster, lath and three floors
Plaster and steel lath block Wi-Fi far more than drywall does. We put an access point, a small Wi-Fi unit, on the ceiling of each floor and wire it back to one spot, so the top floor is as fast as the room next to the modem.
The home office that can't drop
For people who work from home, we give the home office its own wired connection and set the network to put calls first, so the 9 a.m. video call stays up while the kids stream upstairs.
Yards, garages and pool houses
We add outdoor access points for patios and pool houses and run cable out to detached garages. Larchmont, Scarsdale and Rye ask for this every summer.
