What we install
Two ways to cover a building, and we will tell you which one makes sense for yours.
Home mesh, from $2,500. Three UniFi Express 7 nodes on shelves and tables, nothing drilled. Best for drywall, one or two floors, and up to about 4,000 square feet. On site two to three hours. Hardware is included, and so is 90 days of support.
Home wired, from $8,000. Ceiling access points, each on its own new cable, a rack on the wall, and a battery backup. Best for plaster and brick, three or more floors, or a house adding cameras. Most wired homes land between $8,000 and $13,000. On site one to two days. Hardware is included, and so is 90 days of support.
Offices are quoted in writing after we see the floor plan and count the drops. Office work usually means ceiling access points, cabling to each one, and a firewall with a guest network separated from the staff network.
Towns we work in
Bayside and Douglaston are in Queens. See New York City for the boroughs, and locations for the wider area. We come out by appointment. The first call is free and runs on Google Meet. The on-site visit is $500, and it comes off the project when you go ahead.
Why the extenders you have are not the problem
Most houses on Long Island are not short on signal, they are short on access points. One router in the basement or the front closet has to push through two floors and a brick chimney. Extenders repeat that weak signal rather than fixing it, which is why the speed drops in half the moment you walk into the far room.
A UniFi system puts a small unit on each floor, and hands the device from one unit to the next as you move. The Wi-Fi name and password stay the same, so nothing needs to be reconnected.
The house that drops calls upstairs
Someone walks from the kitchen to the upstairs office on a video call. One router in the front closet, and the call freezes at the top of the stairs. After a mesh install with one unit per floor, the same walk and the call keeps going. This is the most common call we get in Nassau County, and it is usually solved in one visit.
Offices and medical practices
Nassau has a lot of small offices in office parks, and a lot of practices in converted houses. Both tend to have the same two problems: Wi-Fi that stops at the far end of the suite, and a guest network sharing the same hardware as the workstations.
We separate the guest network, put access points where the desks actually are rather than where the cabling was easiest, and test at every desk.
If you also want the computers and email looked after, that is a separate managed IT plan. An office move is a separate project from this Wi-Fi install.
How it works
A 30-minute call
Free, on Google Meet. You tell us what is not working and send a floor plan or a few photos if you have them.
A written price
We tell you which of the two setups fits and what it costs. You get a written price before anything starts. If we need to see the building first, the on-site visit is $500 and it comes off the project when you go ahead.
Install
If it is a fit, we book the install. We lead every job directly, with insured partners on larger installs. We test every room before we leave.
90 days of support
Hardware is included, and so is 90 days of support. Text us if anything acts up. After 90 days, help is per visit.
Questions
Mesh or wired, which do I need?
Plaster, brick, three or more floors, or new cameras usually means wired. Drywall and one or two floors usually means mesh.
Do I have to switch internet providers?
No. We replace the router and extenders, not the service.
Who owns the hardware?
You do. There is no monthly home plan and nothing to cancel.
Do you install eero or Google Nest?
No. We install UniFi only, because we can manage it and support it afterwards.
What does the on-site visit cost?
The first video call is free and runs on Google Meet. The on-site visit is $500, and it comes off the project when you go ahead.
Do you work in Suffolk County?
We work across Nassau and western Long Island. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether the drive works.
